Research summary

The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disaste rs –CRED (www.cred.be) located within the Institute for Health and Society of the University of Louvain in Brussels, has over thirty years of research experience in the field of public health and epidemiology of natural disasters and civil conflicts. It works closely with several UN agencies, the European Commission, the World Bank and other universities and research organisations across the world. This vacancy is for an administrative and financial position within a team of scientists working around health in armed conflicts and natural disasters. The officer will be responsible for maintaining day to day financial accounting, administrative and personnel services in CRED.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the director in the daily management of the centre.
  • Manage and coordinate international project.
  • Administer and monitor the financial aspect of the centre.
  • Administer employee files and records.
  • Supervise/manage administrative services.
  • Organise the logistics of courses given by CRED staff.

Minimum job requirements

  • Master with experience in similar position .
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc) are required.
  • Fluent French and English are required.
  • Must be able to work in a team, be flexible and operate in non-hierarchical structures.
